Wonderful! But How Can We Make The Scent Last?

I love this terracotta pomegranate and even kept the box in another space as it was beautiful and held the scent. How can I keep this lovely piece scented forever? It seems a shame to throw it away or buy more. Can I spray it with perfume so it will continue to smell? Please advise!
